AWS
Amazon Web Services is a cloud computing platform with a wide variety of services available. In the context of enable data union , AWS serves as the platform where infrastructure components are created and run. The machines handling scheduling and movement of data are running on AWS computers, and data and secure credentials are stored in the AWS account running the EDU code. The Snowflake database can also run on compute and storage provided by AWS.
The edu framework has been to designed to be able to be generalized to work in other cloud providers' environments, but for right now it only supports AWS.
AWS offers some no-cost tier but setting up edu in a production environment will involve some costs. We have designed the infrastructure in our publicly available code to be as cost-efficient as possible. If you have questions about cost please contact us at edu@edanalytics.org.
